Teva Hiking Stiletto?!

WOW!!! Introduced this week...
When sport sandal meets stiletto = Teva+Grey Ant = Velcro strap grip-sole and platform 4" heel, coming together in this fashionable anti-fashion shoe. It looks great!
They're calling it high performance?...  'high' as in height not performance!
I love the look, how comfortable it is, is another story.
You can purchase them in two styles at New High Mart...
As seen in Daily Candy. Editorial photography by MI-ZO.com

I remember when Cole Haan and Nike married and I purchased one of their boots which were not so comfortable after all.

Who Me?... No You?... Jimmy Choo!

I feel like rhyming this morning so... Who me?... No you?... Jimmy Choo!
Besides Manolo Blahnik, it's Jimmy Choo!
My favorite shoe designers who create works of art using shoes, have never seen the inside of my closet!
Why is that?
They are out of my budget, that's why!
Boo Hoo Jimmy Choo
I love you... (oh, how corny).
Yesterday, after a shopping marathon, looking for a shoe to match a dress for a special occasion, with hard to match sequins (rectangular), that are kind-of-platinum... not silver, not gold... I came across the almost perfect shoes in Saks.  Why almost perfect you ask, because they cost $750!!!!!!!!... that's why!  I put them on and almost died... like when you're twelve and imagine being a princess... I wanted someone to be my witness to the beauty and perfection of these glittering, tastefully glittering gems.  I called my friend Jill right then, but no answer...  I even thought about buying them and then after wearing them for that special day,  I could rent them out?...
These photos do NOT do them justice...

Just in case you love them too and are considering buying them, although I hate you, they do come in two styles of pumps with the same beautiful color glitter.

Shoe Sale

I always come back to shoes and bags... can't help it... it makes every outfit and speaks volumes about the person.  I once read a book written by an anthropologist discussing different types of men and the telltale signs of each type...one way was by the shoes they wear.
Need Supply, a denim store in Virginia, and a great online shop has some terrific shoes on sale (some sizes not available)great for spring and I can't help but dream about spring with these cold temps upon us...

Let me know which one is your favorite... love to get your comments!

Virtual Boutique

Virtual Shopping is all to REAL!!!

Shop Designer Boutiques... Shop Celebrity Boutiques...  Shop Blogger Boutiques... or Your Boutique... all on one site...

This one's for my friend Jill and any woman who doesn't have the time to shop for dresses by running all over town... Google has just debuted a new shopping site that's like having a personal shopper find the right item (like shoes for example) and show you how to wear them, pairing them with what and which blogger shares your taste... introducing Boutiques.com...

Take a quiz so the site is customized to your style!...

Create "Your Boutique" with "curators", celebrities and bloggers alike...

I'm looking for a special cocktail dress for a special occasion and I can't wait to try out this NEW and exciting website... I'll let you know how I do.

Shoe Fix

Lately, I've been drowning in my 12 and 14 year old boys' pubescent moodiness... 'The Mom' gets the brunt of it too!  It's got me down in the dumps, feeling teary, not wanting to write...  there there... I know this sounds so shallow but yesterday I went shoe shopping and felt a little better...  Of course it did help that I had the emotional support of my best friend, my husband.
So with coupon in hand, I went to DSW looking for some dress shoes for a few affairs I have coming up this fall.  I bought both the first and second shoes I tried on... I guess I know what I like by now... to spot it from afar...
They both have platforms so the heel is not too steep and they're comfortable enough for an evening affair... though the best part is the price... and I had a coupon for an additional ten dollars off!

This one is fun and has a lot going on so I'll wear it with a simple black cocktail dress...

I wish they still had mens shoes at my DSW store (they are online), now that my kids are wearing mens' sizes... and they're growing and they like expensive basketball shoes!

What helps to cheer you up when you're blue?

"These Boots..."

... are made for walking." Nancy Sinatra sang it in the 1966 hit  and I'm saying it now because I no longer will wear a pair that causes pain even in the name of fashion.  I think since child birth I'm more selective about PAIN... or should I say "NO MORE PAIN" if I can help it!
Hence, I choose shoes and boots these days with either crepe soles, platforms, or moderate heels.  These are a few of my picks for Fall in neutral shades that have comfort in mind.
They can all be had from Piperlime, the online store brought to you by the folks from GAP with free shipping and returns...

Here's my thinking about shoes... Spring and Summer you can get way with inexpensive sandals that won't kill your feet, but Fall shoes and boot... you'll have to spend a little more to be happy and pain free, maybe not in all cases but for the most part it's true.  Of course, sales are everywhere, so you can wait for a markdown too.
I'm going to look through last years boots sometime this week now that there's a chill in the air.  How about you?
